Senior Golf Coach of Black Betty Golf & Academy
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Javier's passion for golf began at age 13. He honed his skills playing competitively throughout Arizona, which led him to work as a club fitter at Golfsmith Golf Center. There, he learned to build and fit golf clubs, further fueling his interest in the sport. Building on this experience, Javier attended the Harvey Penick Academy and, in 2001, earned an associate's degree from Golf Academy of America, officially becoming a golf instructor.
Javier's extensive knowledge and competitive experience make him the ideal instructor for any player. Whether you're a beginner or a competitive player, he has a true passion for helping others improve their game.

Absolutely! Our goal is to encourage new players to the game. Please advise when you book that you are a beginner and we can arrange to spend a little extra time with you. You can also book your first time at an X-Golf with a PGA teaching professional to go through the fundamentals of holding clubs to the basic swing.
Yes, we encourage players to bring their own clubs, though rental clubs are available.
The fee is for the simulator time, regardless of how many people are playing and it is not per person. Each individual can finish 18 holes in about one hour (or two people can play 9 holes each in about one hour). If you add more people it will take 1 hour per person added to play 18 holes.
No need, the simulator has its own tee built into the system…plus it collects and tees the balls automatically.
Yes, all locations have rentals. Check with your preferred location on pricing.
Yes. We welcome children of all ages.
Generally it takes 1 hour for an individual player to play 18 holes. If you have more than one player you may want to book an additional hour for each player in your group, but skill level can have an effect on pace of play.
Booking a tee time is highly recommended either online or calling your preferred location. Most X-Golf locations frequently sell out during busy times/weekends.
Gift cards are available and can be purchased at the preferred location or digitally online.
Golf shoes with soft spikes only are allowed (please make sure they are clean) but tennis shoes work great on the artificial turf, as well.
No we supply the golf balls and the automatic tee system.
