Steven Hedlund
Certified Instructor
As Co-founder of The Lake County Golf Academy, Steven has been a continuous student of the game since the age of 4 years old. Born and raised here in Lake County, Steven developed his swing through small- group and private instruction from childhood through college. After graduating from Eastern Illinois University, Steven began teaching the game of golf to others. Studying under the mentorship of George Connor (featured on The Golf Channel), Steven obsessively dove into the workings of what makes an efficient and powerful golf swing and is a certified master club fitter & instructor.
Ken Krozel
Certified Instructor
As a Co-founder of The Lake County Golf Academy, Ken is the mad scientist! He is a Chemical Engineer, where he specialized in Process Design, and Six Sigma. He's passionate about continuous improvement and using data to make the right decisions for your game! Ken has competed in CDGA and USGA as an amateur, as well as West Florida Golf Tour Events in Tampa. Ken will use exacting science in all aspects of your game to help you achieve your best scoring, by helping you use your game's strengths, while minimizing your game's weaknesses. -Certified Flight Scope Instructor -Quintic Ball Roll -Certified SPi Putting Fitter.

Absolutely! Our goal is to encourage new players to the game. Please advise when you book that you are a beginner and we can arrange to spend a little extra time with you. You can also book your first time at an X-Golf with a PGA teaching professional to go through the fundamentals of holding clubs to the basic swing.
Yes, we encourage players to bring their own clubs, though rental clubs are available.
The fee is for the simulator time, regardless of how many people are playing and it is not per person. Each individual can finish 18 holes in about one hour (or two people can play 9 holes each in about one hour). If you add more people it will take 1 hour per person added to play 18 holes.
No need, the simulator has its own tee built into the system…plus it collects and tees the balls automatically.
Yes, all locations have rentals. Check with your preferred location on pricing.
Yes. We welcome children of all ages.
Generally it takes 1 hour for an individual player to play 18 holes. If you have more than one player you may want to book an additional hour for each player in your group, but skill level can have an effect on pace of play.
Booking a tee time is highly recommended either online or calling your preferred location. Most X-Golf locations frequently sell out during busy times/weekends.
Gift cards are available and can be purchased at the preferred location or digitally online.
Golf shoes with soft spikes only are allowed (please make sure they are clean) but tennis shoes work great on the artificial turf, as well.
No we supply the golf balls and the automatic tee system.
